I Promised Pizza

In the post Road to Segou, I concluded with us retiring to the river for some pizza and quiet night life. Before shoveling down our pizza, my travel buddy and I went down to the shore and passed some time just relaxing. While he put-a-shout-out to friends via facebook, I wandered around capturing images of Niger River nightlife. The sun set early because of a meterological phenomenon called “Harmattan” that had created a dirt red haze on the horizon.
Although I’m holding back a few images from that night for future posts, I’ve thrown together these images into what I’m calling “image pizza” – just for you!

Enjoy! Ed.
Beautiful. There is some peace and tranquility there, and it is nice to see.
In Bamako, the traffic is such that any travelling or even a night out tends to have this hurried feeling to it. For me, our evening by the river in Segou had that expansive feel you get when you leave the busy city and spend time in the country. That “Harmattan Haze” kept everything very quiet too, muffled even.
yes, it truly was a peaceful and wonderful respite from the hustle and bustle.
Oh aye! I should’ve called it “peaceful picture pizza” =)
This is shaping up very nicely, I know it is a lot of work for you, but very very enjoyable! I Love you like a sister!!! LOL
